Laura Marie combines emotionally charged lyrics with a soothing vocal quality reminiscent of artists like Natalie Merchant, Norah Jones, Aimee Mann and Chrissie Hynde. As a songwriter she is known for poignant and striking wordplay (“Wait,” “In Code,” “Still”) that gets to the heart of the matter with a vocal delivery described as ‘smooth as 100 year-old scotch’.
In 2009 she has been named Americana Music Times' Artist of the Month and nominated for Artist of the Year by the San Antonio Texas Music Coalition. Laura Marie is creator and producer of the Laura Marie Summer Songwriters Series at Candlelight Coffeehouse in San Antonio and performs regularly at wine bars, restaurants, festivals, house concerts and special events. She is currently promoting her first solo release, Drawn, and recording her second.
