It takes alot of time and planning to put on a great show. There is gear to pack, setup/breakdown time, personal performance, rehearsals, travel , food expenses and in some cases parking expenses.
Entertainers may consider non-paying shows, if the following applies:
- It is for a good cause.
- The sound system, soundman and lighting is provided.
- Food and non alcoholic drinks are provided.
For non paying events it is mandatory performers be allowed to have tip jars and sell promotional material.
